I am a structured, creative, messy, earthy soul. You will find me immersed in nature or with my close friends and family. I live south of Adelaide, on the Fleurieu Penninsula with my husband, our two spirited little humans and our fury four legged friend. With over 10 years experience in health and community services, I am a Certified Holistic Health Coach, I have an Advanced Certificate in Guiding and Teaching Meditation & Mindfulness (through ACMM), and I am one of only 2 qualified, currently practicing Mindful Self-Compassion for Teens (MSC-T) teachers in Australia.
I came to meditation as someone who internalised a lot of things. I was busy (as we all are), I was looking after everyone but myself, and I really wasn’t in touch with what was going on with ME. This all came to a head when I started showing signs of not coping in my physical body – extreme fatigue, increased migraines, bodily pain.
Meditation and mindfulness have been a way to rediscover qualities of well-being, calmness, clarity and insight within myself that had been pushed aside and forgotten. This art of conscious living helps to navigate the ‘seasons’ and sometimes turbulent ‘weather conditions’ of life, to help you ‘live in the moments that matter’.
I am an MSC student and a student of life, always learning, always growing and striving to live life to the fullest. I get a lot of joy in sharing in this journey with you. And it is my mission to walk alongside you and your own meditation journey, offering guidance along the way.
The more I developed my own meditation and mindfulness practice, the more I found myself wishing I had of known these things sooner, particularly in my teenaged years. I also found that more and more young people were coming to my classes feeling anxious and overwhelmed for a variety of reasons. And so, grew my passion for teaching young people and connecting them with this well researched and widely recognised program, Mindful Self-Compassion for Teens.
